Begin your journeyOur approach to Counselling & Psychotherapy
Holistic understanding
I take a holistic approach, recognising that our experiences aren't held only in our thoughts — they can also show up in our emotions, behaviours and bodies. Together, we might explore patterns, relationships, past experiences and what is happening for you in the present, always at your pace.
Collaborative sessions
Sessions are collaborative and led by what feels important to you. You won't be given a set programme or expected to follow a particular formula. Instead, we'll work together to make sense of your experiences, develop greater self-awareness and help you find a way forward that feels genuinely your own.
Safe and genuine space
My role is to provide a safe, genuine and non-judgemental space where you can begin to understand yourself more deeply. This allows for exploration of patterns, relationships, and past experiences at a pace that feels right for you.
Who I help
I work with adults and young people experiencing anxiety, low mood or depression, difficulties with confidence, substance misuse, neurodiversity, relationship difficulties and significant life changes.
You may also simply feel stuck, overwhelmed, or find yourself repeating patterns that you want to understand. You don’t need to have everything figured out before coming to counselling. We can begin with what is happening for you now.

Common challenges I support
I have particular experience supporting people affected by substance misuse, trauma, emotional and mental health difficulties, relationship challenges and significant life changes.
You don't need to have everything figured out before coming to counselling. You may simply know that something doesn't feel right, that you're struggling, or that you keep finding yourself in patterns you would like to understand.
What makes The Human Lens different?
The Human Lens grew from my belief that we are more than the difficulties we bring to therapy. Rather than focusing only on symptoms, I’m interested in the whole person, your experiences, relationships, patterns and the ways these may be felt both emotionally and physically.
My humanistic approach brings together person-centred counselling with an awareness of the connection between mind and body. There is no formula for how therapy should look. We work with what emerges, at your pace, with space for curiosity, honesty and the parts of your experience that can sometimes be difficult to put into words.
